Other Subjects

For RE this half term, we will be learning about Judaism.  We will be researching their beliefs and practices to understand how special the relationship is between Jewish people and God.

Art: This term we hope to create art linked to RE and our Learning Challenge by creating special projects linked to Judaism and Volcanoes.

History: This subject will link to our Learning Challenge as we will be studying historical natural disasters that have occurred around the world.

Computing: We will be learning how to use Book-Creator software to create a report on the volcanic eruption in Pompeii. In Sawley, online safety is of key importance. We will be having regular talks about not only the benefits of being online but also the risks. In year 4, we aim to prepare the children with a good understanding of their digital footprint and what to do if they see something they find uncomfortable online.

Handwriting: We are now encouraging the children to use cursive (joined) handwriting which we will be practicing as a part of our broad and balanced curriculum. We thank you in advance for your support with this in homework activities where appropriate.

PE:

Indoor = Dance - The Haka (Wednesday)

Outdoor = Netball (Tuesday)

Music: The children will be continuing to learn how to play the ukulele every Thursday afternoon.
