Week 15

ART WEEK!

Good morning Year 4 and welcome to Art Week (Week beginning 29th June 2020)!

This week, all of the children in school are studying a different artist within their bubble and creating beautiful pieces of artwork to display on our school boards. We have decided to create our own 'Home Bubble' so that everyone working from home can join in too! Our chosen artist for this week is Pablo Picasso.

During art week, we will be off our usual timetable so our English work will be all Picasso-based and so will our Learning Challenge lessons. In English this week, we will be learning about Pablo Picasso's life and some of his famous art work. We will then use this research to write a letter as Picasso to one of his friends or family members. Once you have completed your letters, we'd love for them to be sent in to school to be displayed on our very own display board!

During Learning Challenge, we will be creating some Picasso-style cubism art in the form of self portraits. Please take your time on these and remember, they need to be really eye-catching and display worthy! It's a great chance to be really creative and produce something you can be really proud of!

This week, I have created a weekly overview PowerPoint which outlines your English and Art tasks for each day of the week and gives you some ideas which might help you to complete each activity. I have also created some worksheets and PowerPoints for your English work which I will add below. Any art resources will also be clearly labelled and added beneath the timetable.

We'd love your English work and your Art work to be sent in to school so that our displays can look bright and colourful for when you return to school. Remember, any work you do send in should clearly have your name and class on. If you cannot find a way of getting the original art into school, we'd love to see a picture or a scanned copy so please email your work to ejoyce@sawley-jun.derbyshire.sch.uk or to your class teacher and they can ensure it makes it's way to the people in school!

I hope you have a fantastic, creative week and I can't wait to see the fantastic artwork that you produce! If you have any questions or need any help with anything, please email me on the email in the paragraph above and I'd be more than happy to help you out.
