END OF TERM!
Good morning Year 4 and welcome to the last couple of days before Summer holidays! Congratulations for following our home learning journey for so long, I hope you've enjoyed the activities and I hope it's given you a bit of a routine and helped to prepare you for September. I also wanted to say a massive well done to everyone who has been recording their reading on Accelerated Reader - It's brilliant to see how much you've been reading during lockdown. Keep up the excellent work, Year 4!
I've added some fun activities for this week to wind down with. You'll find these below the timetable. The timetable for this week is only a guide so you're welcome to have a go at the activities in whichever order you like. Feel free to have a go at whichever tasks suit you, I've tried to provide a range so that there should be something for everyone!
You all deserve a break so enjoy the summer holidays and try to relax as much as you can. I know it's been a really bizarre year but you've coped with it so well and try not to worry about the return to school in September. We're all in the same boat and we'll all be feeling that bit more nervous but it will be so wonderful to be reunited in our lovely little Sawley community again and you'll settle back into our school routines again in no time. We'll all have done different levels of work over our home learning journey but all we care about is that you've looked after yourselves and we'll be there to support you back into things in September. I'd also like to say an enormous thank you to your parents and carers for helping out with your home learning during this time! It's a big task to have taken on and we're so grateful to any parents who have supported you with the tasks we've set.
For those of you that aren't quite ready to say goodbye to home learning and want to continue with some form of home learning routine, I'll add a number of resources and websites below to allow you to dip into whatever you like. I've added the rest of the RE unit you've been working on for the last couple of weeks along with some extra Learning Challenge activities. I've also provided some reading comprehensions, SPaG activities and extra Maths lessons to complete if you wish. Below these resources, I've listed a few websites which will continue to share resources with you. Oak Academy and Bitesize have a range of lessons for you to choose from. BBC iPlayer have added some nice, short videos of celebrities talking about a range of different subjects so I've left a link to these and finally TopMarks is a good website for educational games. Feel free to go back over any of the previous weeks of work I've set on the website to complete any activities you may have missed. As always, I'd really encourage you to continue reading regularly and practicing your spellings, times tables and handwriting as these are all things that will really help you when you do come back to school. TT Rockstars and Accelerated Reader are fantastic websites to record your Maths and Reading so remember to continue using these. PLEASE don't feel pressured to complete the work I've left on here, they are not compulsory! It's only there for if you want some extra challenges!
If you haven't already, please sign up to Class Dojo and register with our school - it's completely free and is something we're going to be using more heavily from September. All teachers will be using Class Dojo to keep you updated on what's going on and we encourage you to keep us updated with what's been going on with you too! You can also upload photos onto your profile so that your current and new teachers will be able to see the fantastic things you've been up to and comment on them. If you haven't already, it would be great if you could add your information sheet for your new teacher to your Class Dojo portfolio. This should have been sent over to you already! This will help your new teacher get to know a bit more about you before September. Finally, Class Dojo allows parents to private message your teacher so that we can have that two-way communication if you so wish.
My email is email@example.com, please contact me if you have any questions about anything. I'll be more than happy to get back to you! If I don't hear from you, I hope you have a fantastic summer. Stay safe, look after yourselves both mentally and physically and I along with the rest of the Sawley staff can't wait to see you all again in September!
