Week beginning 15th June

Well it's another wet week! Lovely to see so many flowers blooming and the birds enjoying our garden...I hope you're all doing OK and still managing to get some fresh air.  I know you're probably getting a little tired of all this home learning - it's so important you have breaks and keep yourself well, so I've added some mindfulness tasks this week.  I know some of the meditation videos might seem strange at first but give them a go - maybe more than once, then see how you feel!

Missing you all.

Update: 17/06/2020

If any of you are struggling to make the answers appear after you have attempted the question - please look at the picture above.  Please make sure you are looking at the slides in slideshow view.  The red arrows show either where you can click an icon to make it a slide show (bottom right) or you can click on the slideshow tab in the menu above and then click "from the beginning".  This should mean that as you click through the slides, the answers only appear as and when you want them too.  Thanks :)

Task:

Ending to the Ride of Passage adventure

Short division with remainders

Breathing techniques 1: Square breathing

There are so many breathing techniques – which sounds strange as we all know how to breathe!  Have a go though, it may surprise you if you realise your breathing is normally quite shallow or fast (can often happen when we are anxious) – this is one technique of many, where controlling your breathing can help you to relax.

Art:

I remember, when I was around your age, I always wanted inspiration for what to draw – then I realised that actually you can draw anything and everything around you, it doesn’t have to be a special “thing” to help develop your skills!  This video has some great examples.

Wednesday

Task:

Pointless SPaG

Choose any category in round 1 – when you choose one, write down as many ideas as you can (with a 1 minute limit!).  Then click the answers – the idea is to get the lowest points possible!  Can you get a pointless answer?

Round 2 is tougher – it might be a little tricky to know where to click to show the answers (aim for quite close to the numbers)

Short division with decimal answers

PE 2: Calming Pilates 2020

Exercise doesn’t have to be high tempo to be good for you!  Sometimes when were stressed or upset, our breathing becomes shallow and we hold tension in our bodies.  Grab a chair for this video, to help to try and calm any negative feelings you may be having.
