Week beginning 23/03/20
27/03/20 Did any of you manage to go outside to clap for the NHS? I did and something that I noticed in some of my neighbours windows were pictures and paintings of rainbows - so that when people maybe leave their house (once a day) for some exercise, they see these beautiful artworks. Have you created a rainbow? That's your task! Create a rainbow piece of art for your window - maybe even e-mail a photo of them to me and I will post them on this page!
I've added some other useful bits and pieces below - some great crafts ideas and some tips for you and your parents on spending so much time with family!
If you're missing maths and English lessons - here is a 20 minutes arithmetic blast for you (time yourself!) https://CEVOIYM.exampro.net and a short reading comprehension task - again, no longer than 20 minutes! https://IEQUXOC.exampro.net
25/03/20 So many sites are offering free access so you can vary your learning at home! Www.outoftheark.co.uk/ootam-at-home/ has some brilliant music activities and David Williams is reading a book. for you to listen to at bit.ly/AudioElevenses - log in each day for the latest part! A YouTube channel called Story online has some brilliant celebrities that are reading a whole range of stories too!
for those of you that want a specific task to do, remember we are living through history! It’s not usual for schools to be closed down or for us, as a country to be asked to distance ourselves, physically, from one another. Start keeping a diary. Imagine reading it when you’re your parents age - imagine showing the diary to your children one day! What important things have happened in the news? In your area? How are you entertaining yourself? Keep a diary of it all - you are part a moment in history I am sure they will study one day at school! Don’t forget your non-negotiables, they are below in one of the links 😀😀
24/03/20 for any of you that are missing the brilliant videos we often find for you in year 6 (long division and rounding rap anyone?!🤣) we have found the best website for you! Have a look at www.bbc.co.uk/teach. Super movers has some great active videos where you can move and learn some catchy lyrics...there are even subject specific ones too https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/ks2-maths-collection/z7frpg8 - enjoy!
23/03/20: So it is early days of the school being closed. There are lots of brilliant tasks for you to complete on this page for you to keep up your skills. However, updates will also be put here for if you have finished these tasks or we find anything we think you may love!
It's so important you keep physically active. If you have access to YouTube, look for "The Body Coach" and look out for PE with Joe - he is posting at 9am every morning! Join in with siblings and maybe even the adults in your house too!
Also, revise and improve your maths skills with WhiteRoseMaths updates everyday at 10am: They are super busy at the moment but the content is available all day if you struggle to get access or you have siblings that also want the computer! When you log in, choose your year group and go! Find them at whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/
