Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of our staff and the Governing Body, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Sawley Junior School.

At Sawley, we are proud to be part of ONE Academy Trust, working in partnership with schools across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. What makes us special, though, is our strong sense of community and our commitment to every single child who walks through our doors.

We are a nurturing and inclusive school where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to flourish. Academic achievement is important, but it is only one part of what we do. We are equally passionate about developing character—helping our children to grow into confident, respectful, resilient young people who are ready not just for the next stage of their education, but for life beyond school.

Our ethos—Aspire… Achieve… Thrive—captures our belief that children should be encouraged to dream big, work hard, and find joy and pride in their learning. We place great importance on opportunities that develop the whole child: enrichment activities, leadership roles, creative and sporting experiences, and the skills to build positive relationships with others.
