Scenarios where remote education should be considered

Circumstances where it might not be possible for pupils to receive in person education fit into two broad categories:

• School closures or restrictions on attendance, where school access for pupils is restricted;
• Individual cases where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able to learn.

We will only add Remote Learning to this page as and when required.

In the event that a pupil is unable to attend school but is well enough to learn, or where school attendance is restricted, Sawley Junior School will provide remote education to ensure continuity of learning. For individual cases, class teachers will organise this learning through learning packs and online platforms and will be aligned, where possible, to the curriculum being taught in school. Teachers will provide learning activities, guidance and feedback appropriate to pupils' age and stage of development.

We recognise that some pupils, including those with SEND, may require adaptations to remote learning and will work with families to ensure provision remains accessible. Families experiencing difficulties accessing remote education due to device or connectivity issues should contact the school for support.
