Admissions to Sawley Junior School
Admissions to Sawley Junior School are processed by the Local Authority as part of the Derbyshire Coordinated Admissions Scheme.
The Admissions link below will open the Derbyshire County Council Primary Admissions page where you will find guidance about application dates and access to online application forms for Infant and Junior places.
Applications can also be made via post or over the phone.
A place at Sawley Infant School cannot guarantee a place at Sawley Junior School.
We are two separate schools, part of Willows Academy Trust.
Apply for primary, infant and junior school places
If your child was born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 you should have applied for their infant or primary school place by 15 January 2020. They'll be able to start school in September 2020. The closing date has now passed but you can still make a late application.
If your child was born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013 and is in their last year at infant school you should have applied for their junior school place by 15 January 2020. The closing date has now passed but you can still make a late application.
If your child attends a school outside of Derbyshire which operates a different pattern of education and they are due to transfer to primary school in September 2020 you should also have applied for a junior school place by 15 January 2020. The closing date has now passed but you can still make a late junior school application.
The application process is quick and easy and you can also find information about how to choose a school and apply for a place in our parents guide to primary admissions.
You'll get your offer on 16 April 2020 and if you're unhappy with the decision you can make a primary school admission appeal.
Changing school at other times
You may want to apply for your child to change schools other than when they are due to start primary, junior or secondary education. This could be because of a change of address.
If you want to apply for a place at a school in Derbyshire, you can do this online at any time. We've added guidance about changing schools to help you through the process.
If you want to apply for a place at a school in another council area you should contact the council where the school is located.
You have a legal right to express a preference for which school you want your child to go to. This is not the same as being able to choose.
Where you've told us of a preference for a particular school and there are places we'll try to offer you a place at that school.
However, there's no automatic right to a place at a particular school and it may not always be possible to offer a place at your preference.
You have the right to appeal where you're unhappy with the offer made.
