Basketball - The Final!!
Fri 07 Mar 2014Basketball - The Final!! - Fri 07 Mar 2014
Sawley pupils really did the school proud at the basketball yesterday. They came =3rd in their section with 7 points but placed 4th on goal difference.
Three schools had 7 points overall, so joint 5th with two other schools out of the 10 schools there and we were told that was out of the 400 schools in Derbyshire!
They did really well after only two practices plus the four short games at the tournament!
I've never seen anything like it in 35 years teaching. It was so competitive! I was totally exhausted by the end! Four pupils had parents with them and they were thrilled by their performance and experience.
So results as I know so far -1 William Gilbert - 15 points
2 Dronfield Stonelow - 13 points
3 Osmaston - 12 Points
4 Fairmeadowe - 11 points
(The above played two more games which is why their points are a bit higher)
5 St Albans, Sawley Junior Oakwood Junior - 7 points
8. Bolsover C of E - 6 points
9. Harpur Hill - 5 points
10. Brampton Primary - 4 points
Goal differences may affect the final placings - but hey, =5th out of 400 schools - WOW!
Well done to all of you
Mrs Lacey
